However, they can quickly become damaged or moldy, particularly when subjected to sudden weather changes, such as low temperatures or humid, rainy conditions. This vulnerability is a common characteristic of many products made from natural materials.
While these products are aesthetically pleasing and widely used, users must know how to properly preserve them for long-lasting use.
Although the raw materials for water hyacinth products are thoroughly dried, they possess good moisture-absorbing properties. Therefore, storing water hyacinth products in dry, cool places is crucial. Avoid leaving them on the floor for extended periods, under air conditioning units, or in areas prone to mold and high humidity.
When not in use, keep the baskets in a dry location with a few desiccant bags, and occasionally take them out to dry in light sunlight.
Do not store the product in a plastic bag, which will trap moisture and encourage mold growth.
To address dirty or moldy handbags, use a damp cloth to wipe the affected area or a soft brush with water to gently clean it. After cleaning, leave the product in light sunlight to dry the fibers and eliminate any remaining mold.
